The manual includes a table of 12 possible icons (clock, output energized, comms active, etc.). Memorizing these will speed up daily operation.

The Brj-502 supports two programming methods:

: Upon plugging the device into a standard AC outlet, it automatically enters a "Preheating Mode" for approximately 180 seconds (3 minutes) . During this time, the red ALARM indicator will flash, and the display may count down or show "0". Do not attempt gas testing during this period. Check your device for logos, FCC ID, or additional codes

A: Go to System Settings > Security > Set Password. The default is 0000. The manual warns: if you forget the password, you must send the unit back for a factory reset – there is no backdoor.

During this time, the "STATE" light will flash green and the screen will show flashing characters.
